Heroism: for brass band
The term heroism is defined as "heroic conduct especially as exhibited in fulfilling a high purpose or attaining a noble end."
Commissioned by the Northern Michigan Brass Band, Heroism is an auditory journey depicting what a hero might emotionally endure. Whether the hero is a knight from your favorite fantasy novel, a real-life war vetern, or even your every day citizen, the qualities of a hero are often all-encompassing:
Courage. Bravery. Sacrifice. No matter what heroic tale you might have read, or whatever hero might be living in your backyard, these qualities almost always present. From the determination before the start of a journey, to cunning actions occasionally required of them, moments of self-doubt, to sacrifice-related grief, Heroism will transport you to the various stages of a hero's life.
Heroism was to be premiered in September 2020, but was temporarily postponed due to the COVID pandemic.
